Congratulations to both our 17u and 18u Bombers teams!!! They each played 5 games in 36 hours in 90 degree plus heat. Both teams won their separate pools and faced off against each other in the Championship game. In a thriller, the 17u team won in a walk off hit in the bottom of the 7th to secure the 10 – 9 win after trailing by a score of 8 to 1 earlier in the game. Shane Finch launched a 2 run bomb to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th and Swaroop Pujari had the winning hit in the last inning. All players on both Bombers teams performed with skill, passion and supported one another throughout the two days. Both teams were exhausted and ran out of pitching and position players for both our teams stepped up and filled in. We even had Steven Gerrish, a pitcher on our 18u team, step in as a catcher to help provide some relief from the heat for our regular catcher Mark Green. It was a great tournament and I couldn’t be prouder of all our boys. Congratulations!
