Bombers Baseball Club – 2020 Covid-19 Game and Practice Sanitization Protocol

Bombers Baseball Club – 2020 Covid-19 Game and Practice Sanitization Protocol:

In anticipation of being allowed to play summer baseball in 2020, the Bombers Baseball Club will be adopting the following rules and procedures for all practices, games and tournaments.  These are an adoption of the best practices and suggestions by other sports organizations and healthcare professionals.

  • All players, coaches and spectators will be required to have a mask and wear it while in attendance at any of our baseball events
  • All players will be required to have their own hand sanitizer at every baseball event (gels and/or wipes). Players and coaches will need to regularly clean their hand and equipment during all our events.
  • There will be NO sharing of drinks, food, bats, equipment, uniforms, etc.
  • There will be no unnecessary contact among players and coaches (no high fives, fist/chest bumps, etc.)
  • Social distancing of 6 feet will remain in force at all times whenever possible pre, post and during games and practices. This includes spacing all players in the dugout.  If necessary, if all players cannot be spaced in the dugout, then they will be spaced outside the dugout at appropriate distances.
  • Social distancing will also be maintained during coach/team huddles at all times
  • There will be no spitting.
  • Fans in attendance will be required to space themselves at appropriate distances from other non-family members. Depending on the availability of seating/space at the event, it may be necessary to limit each player to one fan/parent at that specific event.
  • There will be no pre or post game interactions with the other teams/fans such as a post-game handshake.

We all need to make sure we make our return to play as safe as possible.  We don’t want to risk another outbreak and have all of summer baseball be cancelled for 2020.  These protocols above are subject to changes and additions based on new or forthcoming government/facility/league/tournament requirements.

Thank you,
